Kelly started her career with a traineeship at a firm in Dundee after graduating from the University of Edinburgh in Law and Politics in 2008, returning nearer her roots in Carnoustie. Initially, Kelly focused on corporate matters including commercial contracts, company disposals and acquisitions, and shareholders agreements. As her career progressed, she expanded her expertise to include commercial property transactions, which has become a significant part of her work.

Over the years, Kelly has advised on the purchase and sale of various types of commercial properties, including buy-to-lets, and commercial leasing. She headed up the Commercial department at her previous firm, managing a variety of work across their two offices. Her projects have ranged from small retail leases, advising farming partnerships, equity investment in micro-breweries to large warehouse unit transactions and everything in between.

Outside of her professional life, Kelly is an avid outdoor enthusiast. She enjoys spending her free time hiking and bird watching. However, her true passion lies with birds of prey. Every Sunday you can find Kelly volunteering at a well-known centre, where she not only flies various birds but also takes on all the less glamorous tasks that come with the role.
